Significant Motorcycle Accidents
INTERSECTIONAL COLLISION
The law firm of LGKG represented the driver of a motorcycle who was cresting the top of a hill when the Defendant/Driver made a left hand turn into his path. Suit was filed on behalf of the motorcycle driver alleging that the Defendant/Driver made an illegal left turn in front of the motorcycle and that the city who controlled the intersection did not properly sign and direct traffic at the intersection. During the discovery process, it was determined that there had been several accidents at that intersection which predated the accident in question. It was further learned that there had been discussion concerning the speed limit and the direction of traffic flow by the city. The law firm of LGKG alleged that the speed limit should have been lowered and that the ability of vehicles to make left hand turns at the intersection should also have been limited. It was alleged that there were blind spots approaching the intersection from all directions which was a significant factor in causing the accident. After extensive discovery, the case was settled on behalf of the motorcycle driver who sustained a fractured tibia and fibula.
REAR END COLLISION
The Plaintiff’s motorcycle was struck from the rear by the Defendant’s automobile. The Defendant’s insurance company contested this since all of the Plaintiff’s treatment had been chiropractic care. After trial, the jury awarded a verdict in favor of the Plaintiff.
